Zoë studied at Nova Scotia College of Art & Design (NSCAD), Parsons School of Design and graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute. She worked as a photographer for over a decade and began painting in 2016 after her husband died of cancer.
“I use painting as a way of reflecting and mapping emotions. Painting & drawing observations related to my life and the greater culture we live in. Reflecting experience back out to the viewer by mirroring our larger culture within the bounds of the human condition.
I make art as a form of cataloguing the moment I am in. Classifying my observations and emotions on what is happening around me. Often I use words as a pin to start the process for making art. Lately I am using eyes as the pin to begin my process.
My practice is a reflection of the human condition through the lens in which I am living. .”
